BASF Announces 11.6% Growth in Sales in the Third Quarter

BASF announced its third quarter financial report a few days ago. The report shows that its sales increased by 11.6% year-on-year, and EBIT increased by 6% year-on-year.

BASF posted sales of 17.6 billion euros (24.1 billion U.S. dollars) in the third quarter, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%; operating income fell by 249 million euros (3.4 billion U.S. dollars) to 2 billion euros (2.74 billion U.S. dollars); EBIT was 1.06 Billion euros (US$145 million), a year-on-year increase of 6%.

In the third quarter, BASF showed almost all growth trends in various markets. The business acquired from Cognis in Germany resulted in a significant increase in sales in Europe and North America. The increase in sales in Asia was mainly due to price Increase and demand growth, and BASF also achieved sales growth in the South American market.
