A pillow block, also known as a plummerblock or bearing housing, is a pedestal used to provide support for a rotating shaft with the help of compatible bearings & various accessories. Housing material for a pillow block is typically made of cast iron or cast steel. 

Insert bearings are basically deep groove ball bearings of series 62 and 63 which are sealed at both sides, have a 

convex sphered outside diameter on the outer ring, and have an inner ring - with the exception of two series - which isextended at one or both sides.
