According to the relevant person in charge of the Provincial Economy and Information Commission, the Chengdu FAW-Volkswagen Chengdu vehicle production project in Jingkai District, Chengdu will reach 200,000 units by the end of the year. After the release of its 350,000 design capacity, it will further accelerate the development of the entire vehicle manufacturing industry in the province.
Sales volume exceeded 100 billion in advance, relying on the production of new models that meet the market demand. Yue Youren, president of the Sichuan Automobile Industry Association, believes that the passenger cars produced in the province are mainly new mid-range models such as Sagitar, which are closely related to the mainstream demand of the passenger car market and show strong market competitiveness.
The development of vehicle manufacturing is an important way for the province’s auto industry to realize overtaking. In recent years, through the introduction of large-scale vehicle companies into Sichuan to establish a western manufacturing and manufacturing base, the province currently has nearly 40 vehicle manufacturers, including world-class giants such as Volkswagen, Toyota, and Volvo. At the end of this year, the total vehicle production in the province will reach 500,000 vehicles.
