Xinhuanet Washington, February 20 (Reporter Zheng Qihang Jiang Yujuan) The US government announced on the 20th that due to the failure of Japan’s Takada Corporation to fully cooperate with the US regulatory authorities to investigate the airbags it produces, it will impose a daily fee of US$14,000 on the company. Fines (Note: 14,000 US dollars is about 87.563 million yuan).

US Transportation Secretary Anthony Fox announced the decision on the same day. He said that it is unacceptable and tolerant for Takada's failure to fully cooperate with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation. "Gaoda will not fully cooperate with our requirements one day, and we will increase the penalty for one day."

It is reported that there is a problem with the booster pump of the airbag produced by Takada from 2000 to 2007. When the airbag is pushed out, there may be excessive bursting and release of metal fragments, which may cause injury and even death of the driver and passenger. More than 7.8 million vehicles are affected by this problem airbag in the US market, with more than 20 million vehicles worldwide. Six people have been killed in the world.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that it has investigated the airbags for this problem and issued two special orders at the end of last year to require Takada to fully cooperate and provide relevant materials. However, Takata has not fully cooperated with the investigation.
