After realizing the further optimization of the market for large container ship propulsion efficiency, Mann Diesel & Turbo recently announced the launch of two important engines for their engine plans.
Currently, two new large two-stroke engines, the G95ME-C9.2 and S90ME-C10.2 engines, are being developed, and the company has announced details to select these engines for the optimized ship project that is entering the design phase.
According to Mann Diesel and Turbo, the two engines belong to the largest and most powerful engine that the company has never introduced to the marine two-stroke engine market.
The drawing delivery time for the S90ME-C10.2 engine and the G95ME-C9.2 engine is 2-4 months and 9-11 months after the order is confirmed. Depending on the design speed, the two engines can be configured differently. Although the S90ME-C10.2 engine is basically the same as the existing S90ME-C9.2 engine, if the specific project requires, the current L3-L4 speed can be reduced to 76 rpm in 76 rpm. Change the basic design of the S90ME-C9.2 engine.
The S90ME-C10.2 engine with a bore of 900 mm and a stroke of 3260 mm will share all the dimensions of the S90ME-C9.2 engine. This design difference with increased average effective pressure results in modifications to the crankshaft journal bearing design and web thickness, including an adaptive modification of the connecting rod.
The supercharger and hydraulic power supply meet the normal power/speed output. The size and number of hydraulic pumps are slightly different. The G95ME-C9.2 engine has a larger bore and stroke than the S90ME series, with a bore of 950 mm and a stroke of 3640 mm. This means that the average speed of the piston is 9.23 m / s, compared to 9.13 m / s. The average effective pressure is the same as the average fuel consumption. At a pressure of 21 bar, the average fuel consumption is 166 (L1-L3) and 160 (L2-L4) g/kWh, respectively.
The configuration of the G95ME-C9.2 engine helps to further reduce the speed to 80/70 rpm. Mann Diesel & Turbo said it would help a new generation of ultra-large container ships, using large diameter and high efficiency propellers to increase efficiency and avoid unnecessary sacrificing ship speed.
